Splitters and Combiners
Aerial SplittersA diplexer is used inside/outside to combine the signals these could be from a satellite dish, FM aerial, DAB aerial or TV signal. Combined signals are then routed down a single coaxial line into the home. A second diplexer is used to separate the combined signals (wall plate). Diplexers eliminate the need for extra wiring thereby reducing the cost of labour and installation materials necessary to run two coaxial feeds. Splitters allow one aerial to supply up to 8 rooms with the signal (provided you have a strong signal). Related Links: Amplifiers and distribution, Coax connectors, Attenuators and modulators
