Which Coax Cable Is Best?
We only stock 'branded' coax cables. All our coaxial cables have an outer braid, inner foil and copper center. Our cheaper coax is a reasonable quality RG6 cable suitable for most applications. Our high-end cable is Webro WF100, which is a top quality cable, suitable for tv aerial and satellite systems. Here's a brief appraisal of coax cables to help you make an informed decision: RG6 - Reasonable quality coax suitable for shorter cable runs (20m or less) where signal strength is not a big problem. There are some poor quality RG6 cables now on the market. CT100 - Seems to be the one a lot of people have heard of but hasn't been made by any of the major cable manufacturers since 2005. This means our CT100 cable has to be imported and is a little more expensive than WF100, although WF100 is a better quality cable. H109F / WC100 - Top quality coax cable but stiff, difficult to use and prone to kinking. WF125 - Perhaps the best quality coax cable but very stiff. This coax really 'comes into own' on very long cable runs (50 metres plus). WF100 - Is our most popular cable and is an ideal choice for virtually all satellite and aerial installations. WF100 has a foam plastic dielectric which makes it less susceptible to kinking. Used outdoors, it is less susceptible to water ingress. Copper screened and very low loss. If in doubt use this cable. WF65CU / WF65 - Reasonable quality twin coax cable for use with Sky+ and PVR boxes. Great for small cable runs but where signal strength is a worry or cable runs are long we would recommend upgrading to WF100 Twin (below). Twin WF100 - Top quality twin coax cable, ideal for use with twin, quad and octo lnb's for Sky+ and PVR boxes. This is our best quality twin coaxial cable.
